Dr. Petya Djoubrailov, PT, DPT

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)

Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS)

Certified in Dry Needling
(Cert. DN)

Petya's early love for rhythmic gymnastics and dance sparked her interest in exercise and movement, leading her to a career in physical therapy.

After earning her Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy in 2008 in her home country of Bulgaria, Petya began her career in an outpatient clinic specializing in orthopedic rehabilitation. Seeking to expand her professional experience and further her education, she soon relocated to the USA. While working toward her physical therapy credentials, she gained valuable hands-on experience as a licensed massage therapist, refining her manual therapy skills with a focus on soft tissue techniques. In 2011, she achieved credentialed equivalency to a Master’s in Physical Therapy and joined a leading physical therapy company (Physiotherapy Associates), where she treated patients with a variety of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions. Committed to continuous learning, Petya earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Shenandoah University in 2016 and later achieved Board Certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2019 through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

From 2016 to 2023, Petya worked in a private practice  enjoying the collaborative environment of a smaller team. However, she felt something was missing—an opportunity to provide fully individualized care. At the end of 2022, she opened her own practice, Deluxe Physical Therapy, with the goal of offering highly personalized, hands-on treatment. Unlike traditional clinics, where multiple patients are seen simultaneously and care is sometimes delegated to aides with limited training, Petya’s practice ensures that every patient receives her undivided attention and expertise.

Petya continues to enhance her skills through continuing education courses in orthopedic physical therapy with an emphasis on manual therapy techniques. Believing that manual therapy is key to alleviating pain and improving mobility, Petya uses techniques like soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, therapeutic massage, visceral manipulation, and joint mobilization. She's also certified in dry needling. Additionally, Petya combines therapeutic exercises and neuromuscular techniques to help patients move pain-free.

In her free time (if there is any!) Petya enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids. While she stays busy with all of the kid's activities, she also enjoys long walks, jogging, and exercising, She believes that work-life balance is a key for feeling happy and making other people happy.
